This is what Microsoft would like you to believe, but the Palm-based Treo and Blackberry smartphones have been able to synchronize with Outlook for a long time now.

There is one best cell phone out there for everyone.

People often ask “What is the best cell phone?”  There are many factors that determine which is best for you.  Here’s our best advice.  This answer deals with smartphone class devices.

First, carrier coverage.  Check the area, including now the data coverage area, when selecting  a cellular provider and cell phone.

Second, if you are looking a the smart phone class of phone, it is important to hold it and see if the keyboard is comfortable enough for you to use.

Third, for a smartphone class device, check the cost for the data plan.  A carrier can have a different prices for data plans depending on the device.  Blackberry plans tend to be the most expensive data plans available.

Fourth, check whether the data plan is local or national.  Just like the voice plans, data plans can be limited in area of activation and use.

Fifth, ask about how to synchronize the device.  Many cellular companies charge more if you want to synchronize wirelessly.

Sixth, check if there is a limit on your data plan.  We recommend an unlimited plan.  If you expect to do email or use the web, you will need it.
